Red Curly Kale is a curly, dark purple variety.  A member of the cabbage family, Red Curly Kale has tight, frilly curled leaves and fibrous stalks. It offers a mild cabbage-like flavor and crisp texture. When cooked it becomes tender and nutty with a mild earthy sweetness. Despite it’s slightly bitter taste and tough texture, Kale is highly nutritious.
